Deciduous shrub that grows from sea level to 5,000 feet. Can be found in a wide range of sites ranging from wet to dry and sunny and shady, though grows best with ample sunlight. Can grow up to 30 feet tall and 20 feet wide. Great conservation species as it can be used for riparian restoration, erosion control, and habitat restoration. It has edible berries often used in jams and wines.
