This talk will provide property owners insight into actions that can be taken around their homes and properties to increase their resilience to wildfire.

About our speaker:
Robert Boles began his robust career in wildland firefighting in 2010 as a Forestry Technician with the Virginia Department of Forestry. He has worked from coast to coast for a number of agencies, including the United States Forest Service and the Washington Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), where he spent time as a Crew Supervisor, Assistant Fire Management Officer, and District Fire Management Officer. Currently, he serves as the WDNR Community Resilience Coordinator for our region, overseeing programs like Firewise USA Sites and Community Wildfire Protection Plans across Spokane, Stevens, Pend Oreille, Lincoln, and Whitman Counties.
In this role, Robert conducts assessments, develops plans for Firewise communities, and delivers presentations on defensible space to public and agency audiences. He also collaborates with landowners to promote best practices for property and community survivability. During fire season, Robert can be found contributing to Complex Incident Management Teams as a Division Supervisor and assisting the local DNR District by taking on various leadership roles, including Incident Commander and Duty Officer.
