Palouse Conservation District is forming an Advisory Committee to help us review the services and financial assistance opportunities that we provide to the community. The Advisory Committee will assist with ongoing stakeholder feedback and involvement in identifying needs, informing strategies, and implementing results to improve access to conservation resources for all producers, with a focus on increasing access for historically underserved producers.
We are currently recruiting for historically underserved (HU) producers to participate on the committee. USDA defines HU as farmers or ranchers who are beginning, socially disadvantaged, veteran, and/or limited resource. For detailed definitions, please visit the USDA NRCS webpage.
We are also looking for local natural resource and/or community organization professionals to serve on the committee.
We are currently collecting information from those who may be interested in serving on the committee, with the goal of holding the first meeting in early 2025. If you or anyone you know is interested in serving on the committee, please fill out or share the interest form. In the interest form, you will see a copy of the draft charter of the advisory committee and time commitment expectations.
Feel free to contact Elizabeth at ElizabethS@PalouseCD.org with any questions about this project.
This initiative is funded by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. USDA is an equal opportunity provider, employer, and lender.
