Join Palouse Conservation District in partnership with The Phoenix Conservancy from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 27th for our Annual Native Plant Hike at Kamiak Butte County Park. Our facilitator will be Shannon Collins, the Palouse Prairie Project Manager for The Phoenix Conservancy.
Important: Due to pending construction at Kamiak Butte, the location of this event may change. Be sure to keep an eye on your email for any location updates!
Shannon will guide us through the 3-mile Pine Ridge Trail loop, exploring forest, ridge, and prairie locations along the way. The hike has varied terrain with some elevation gain, so attendees are encouraged to be prepared with water, sturdy footwear, and clothing for the weather. Please bring your own water and supplies to stay comfortable on the trail.
Registration is required. Please fill out the event registration form so that we can send you event updates as needed. Event capacity is capped at 20 participants. Please look for our email for confirmation of your placement on the registration list or waitlist.
We will be logging observations onto the iNaturalist app. We recommend that you download the app to your phone and create an account ahead of the event if you wish to participate in iNaturalist activities. You can learn more about iNaturalist here. This event is being held as part of the City Nature Challenge, which is a global, crowd-sourced biodiversity event taking place April 25th - April 28th. Learn more about the Palouse Region City Nature Challenge here, and join the event within the iNaturalist app.
