Drain Rangers

Polluted stormwater runoff is a common issues that many communities are facing.  Drain Rangers works to equip young students with the problem solving tools of an engineer, and the written skills of a communicator, to solve challenging environmental issues. Palouse CD works with both Drain Rangers (Grades 3-5) and Jr. Drain Rangers (K-2). Both programs focus on real life issues students and families may face in their community from stormwater runoff water pollution.  The curriculum is designed to enhance problem solving abilities on how students can improve water quality like an engineer.

All classroom activities meet the requirements of the Common Core and

Next Generation Science Standards.
